What to Bring

What do you need to bring for your camp experience?

Dear Campers,

Below is a suggested list of items we recommend to make your stay at Hilltop Christian Camp as pleasurable and fulfilling as possible.

General instructions:

  • Please put the camper’s name on ALL items, including dirty clothes bags.
  • Please do not bring cell phones, CD/MP3 players, I-pods/pads or anything else that will detract from the camp activities.

List by Camp Type

DAY CAMPERS

  • An old blanket or sleeping bag for the afternoon rest period
  • Medications (prescription & OTC)
  • One piece swimming suit
  • Towel
  • Money for the camper’s portion of tuition fees due
  • Mission offering & money for optional purchases
    (Camp Store – open only on your day of check-in).

DORM CAMPERS

ICE BREAKER, JUNIOR, INTERMEDIATE, JUNIOR HIGH & HIGH SCHOOL

  • Bible
  • Pencils, paper
  • Bedding or sleeping bag
  • Pillow
  • Towels, wash cloths
  • Toilet articles
  • Medications (prescription & OTC)
  • Sport and *semi-dress clothing
  • 2 pairs of shoes, socks,
  • Sweater or jacket
  • One piece swimming suit
  • Money for the camper’s portion of tuition fees due
  • Mission offering & money for optional purchases (Camp Store – open only on your day of check-in).

Stamps, postcards, envelopes and some toilet articles are also available at the canteen.

You may also wish to bring a ball glove, a camera, *light sports equipment, *small musical instruments and a *small fan & *extension cord. (DORMS ARE NOT AIR CONDITIONED.)

WILDERNESS CAMPERS

In addition to many of the items listed for dorm campers, bring:

  • Tick spray, insect repellent
  • Poncho or rain gear
  • Hat or cap
  • Extra shoes & socks suitable for hiking
  • Flashlight with extra batteries
  • Canteen or water jug
  • Garbage bags for wet and dirty clothing
  • Pair of work gloves

Optional items:

  • Foam mattress
  • compass
  • fanny pack or small back pack

(Due to limited space in the tents, packing in PLASTIC TOTES is highly recommended because they stack well and are waterproof. Otherwise, use backpacks or duffel bags rather than luggage.)

Please do not bring pocket knives.

*Items listed under Dorm Campers that are indicated by an * are not needed for wilderness camp.
